February 24, 2023Jerk seasoning doesn’t have to be limited to meat dishes! Here is a delicious vegetarian recipe using jerk seasoning:
Jamaican Jerk Tofu Skewers Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 block of extra firm tofu
- 1/2 pineapple, cut into chunks
- 2 tablespoons jerk seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Skewers
Instructions:
- Drain the tofu and cut it into cubes. Place the cubes in a large resealable plastic bag and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix together the jerk seasoning, olive oil, soy sauce, honey, lime juice, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Add the marinade to the tofu in the bag, seal the bag and shake well to coat the tofu evenly. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the tofu from the marinade and discard any excess marinade.
- Thread the tofu and pineapple chunks onto skewers, alternating between tofu and pineapple.
- Grill the skewers for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the tofu and pineapple are lightly charred.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
