Privacy policy

1. Overview of the privacy policy

General information

The following information provides a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit our website. Personal data is any data that identifies you personally. Detailed information on the subject of data protection can be found in our data protection statement below this text.

SSL or TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or queries sent by you as website operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser address line changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser.

If the SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you send us cannot be read by third parties.

Encrypted payment transactions on this website

If there is an obligation to send us your payment data (e.g. account number for direct debit authorisation) after entering a paid contract, this data is required for payment processing.

Payment transactions using common payment methods (Visa/MasterCard, direct debit) take place exclusively via an encrypted SSL or TLS connection. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser address line changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser.

With encrypted communication, your payment details that you send to us cannot be read by third parties.

How do we collect your data?

On the one hand, your data is collected when you provide it to us. This could be, for example, data that you enter in a contact form.

Other data is automatically recorded by our IT systems when you visit the website. This mainly concerns technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system or time of day when the page was viewed). This data is collected automatically as soon as you visit our website.

What do we use your data for?

Some of the data is collected to ensure that the website is error-free. Other data may be used to analyse your user behaviour.

What rights do you have regarding your data?

You have the right to receive, at any time and free of charge, information on the origin, recipient and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the correction, restriction or deletion of this data. You also have the right to data transfer. If you have any further questions on data protection, you can contact us at any time at the address indicated in the legal notice. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

Withdrawal of your consent to data processing

Many data processing operations are possible only with your explicit consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time. A simple email to us is sufficient. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out before the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right of objection

If your personal data is processed by us on the basis of legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1, under GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in accordance with Art Reasons arising from your specific situation. Insofar as the objection is directed against the processing of personal data for the purpose of direct advertising, you have a general right to object without having to specify a particular situation.

If you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal or objection, an e-mail is sufficient to provide the e-mail address to contact us.

Objection to advertising mails

We hereby object to the use of contact data published within the scope of the imprint obligation to send advertising and information material that has not been expressly requested. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, for example by spam e-mails.

2. Data Collection

Cookies

Some of the Internet pages use so-called cookies. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our offer more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or generally and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser.

If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.

Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process or to provide certain functions you have requested (e.g. shopping basket function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Insofar as other cookies (e.g. cookies to analyse your surfing behaviour) are stored, these are dealt with separately in this data protection declaration.

You may revoke your permission to track cookies and you may request us to send you your logged data at any time by mail via: info@titusseasoning.com

Server log files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

We do not combine this data with other data sources.

We collect the listed data to ensure a smooth connection setup of the website and to enable a comfortable use of our website by the users. In addition, the log file is used to evaluate system security and stability as well as for administrative purposes. The legal basis for the temporary storage of the data or the log files is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Contact form

If you send us enquiries via the contact form or e-mail, the information you provide in the enquiry form or e-mail, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. The specification of an e-mail address is required for contacting us, the specification of your name as well as your telephone number is voluntary. Under no circumstances will we pass on this data without your consent. The legal basis for processing the data is our legitimate interest in responding to your request in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR and, if applicable, Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR if your request is aimed at concluding a contract. Your data will be deleted after your request has been processed, provided that there are no legal obligations to retain data. You can object to the processing of your personal data at any time in the case of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Shop

For access to our online shop, we offer the option of registering to create a customer account by providing personal data. The data is entered in an input mask and transmitted to us and stored. The data will not be passed on to third parties. Within the scope of registering for a customer account, we store your data necessary for the conclusion and fulfilment of the contract:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • E-mail address

Registration of the user is necessary for the fulfilment of the contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures or for the provision of the requested services. The legal basis for processing the data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. The data will be deleted when the data is no longer required for the performance of the contract. Even after the conclusion of the contract, it may be necessary to store personal data of our contractual partners in order to comply with contractual or legal obligations. As a user, you have the option to cancel your registration at any time. Premature deletion of the data is only possible insofar as contractual or legal obligations do not prevent deletion.

Comment function on this website

For the comment function on this site, in addition to your comment, details of when the comment was created, your e-mail address and, if you do not post anonymously, the username you have chosen will be stored.

Storage period of comments

The comments and the associated data (e.g. IP address) are stored and remain on our website until the commented content has been completely deleted or the comments have to be deleted for legal reasons (e.g. offensive comments).

Legal basis

The storage of the comments is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke your consent at any time. For this purpose, an informal communication by e-mail to us is sufficient. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

Processing of data (customer and contract data)

We collect, process and use personal data only insofar as they are necessary for the establishment, content or amendment of the legal relationship (inventory data). This is done on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfilment of a contract or pre-contractual measures. We collect, process and use personal data about the use of our Internet pages (usage data) only insofar as this is necessary to enable the user to use the service or to bill the user.

The collected customer data is deleted after completion of the order or termination of the business relationship. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Data transfer upon conclusion of a contract for online shops, dealers and goods dispatch

We only transmit personal data to third parties if this is necessary within the framework of the contract processing, for example to the companies entrusted with the delivery of the goods or to the credit institution entrusted with the payment processing. Further transmission of data does not take place or only if you have expressly consented to the transmission. Your data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent, for example for advertising purposes.

The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfilment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

Evaluation reminder

If you have given us your express consent to this during or after your order in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR, we will transmit your e-mail address to the rating platform Trustedshop, Subbelrather Str. 15 C, 50823, Cologne, Germany and/or Trustpilot, Pilestræde 58, 1112 Copenhagen, Denmark so that they can send you a rating reminder by e-mail. You can revoke your consent at any time by sending a message to the data controller or to the rating platform.

3. Social Media

Facebook plugins (Like & Share button)

Plugins of the social network Facebook, provider Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA, are integrated on our pages. You can recognise the Facebook plugins by the Facebook logo or the “Like button” (“Like”) on our page. You can find an overview of the Facebook plugins here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

When you visit our pages, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Facebook server via the plugin. Facebook thereby receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click the Facebook “Like” button while you are logged into your Facebook account, you can link the content of our pages on your Facebook profile. This allows Facebook to associate the visit to our pages with your user account. We would like to point out that we, as the provider of the pages, have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Facebook. You can find more information on this in Facebook’s privacy policy at: https://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php.

If you do not want Facebook to be able to associate your visit to our pages with your Facebook user account, please log out of your Facebook user account.

Instagram plugin

Functions of the Instagram service are integrated on our pages. These functions are offered by Instagram Inc., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA.

If you are logged into your Instagram account, you can link the content of our pages to your Instagram profile by clicking on the Instagram button. This allows Instagram to associate the visit to our pages with your user account. We would like to point out that we, as the provider of the pages, have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Instagram.

For more information, please see Instagram’s privacy policy: https://instagram.com/about/legal/privacy/.

Pinterest plugin

On our site, we use social plugins of the social network Pinterest, which is operated by Pinterest Inc, 808 Brannan Street, San Francisco, CA 94103-490, USA (“Pinterest”).

When you call up a page that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Pinterest servers. The plugin transmits log data to the Pinterest server in the USA. This log data may contain your IP address, the address of the websites visited that also contain Pinterest functions, the type and settings of the browser, the date and time of the request, how you use Pinterest and cookies.

Further information on the purpose, scope and further processing and use of the data by Pinterest, as well as your rights in this regard and options for protecting your privacy, can be found in the Pinterest data protection information: https://about.pinterest.com/de/privacy-policy.

Analysis tools and third-party tools

When visiting our website, your surfing behaviour may be statistically analysed. This is done primarily with cookies and so-called analysis programs. The analysis of your surfing behaviour is usually anonymous; the surfing behaviour cannot be traced back to you. You can object to this analysis. We will inform you about the possibilities of objection in this data protection declaration.

4. Analysis tools

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).

Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

Insofar as you have given your consent to this in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 Sentence 1 lit. a GDPR, the processing on this website is carried out for the purpose of website analysis.

IP anonymisation

We have activated the IP anonymisation function on this website. This means that your IP address is shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases the full IP address will be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

Browser plugin

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Objection to data collection

You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set, which will prevent the collection of your data during future visits to this website: Deactivate Google Analytics.

For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, please see Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

Order data processing

We have concluded an order data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic characteristics with Google Analytics

This website uses the “demographic characteristics” function of Google Analytics. This allows reports to be generated that contain statements about the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google as well as visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time via the ad settings in your Google account or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as shown in the item “Objection to data collection”.

Google Analytics Remarketing

Our websites use the functions of Google Analytics Remarketing in conjunction with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).

This function makes it possible to link the advertising target groups created with Google Analytics Remarketing with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-based, personalised advertising messages that have been adapted to you depending on your previous usage and surfing behaviour on one device (e.g., mobile phone) can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g., tablet or PC).

If you have given your consent, Google will link your web and app browsing history to your Google Account for this purpose. In this way, the same personalised advertising messages can be served on every device on which you log in with your Google account.

To support this feature, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated IDs of users, which are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data to define and create audiences for cross-device ad targeting.

You can permanently object to cross-device remarketing/targeting by deactivating personalised advertising in your Google account; follow this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The aggregation of the collected data in your Google account is based solely on your consent, which you can give or withdraw at Google (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). In the case of data collection processes that are not merged in your Google Account (e.g., because you do not have a Google Account or have objected to the merging), the collection of data is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The legitimate interest results from the fact that the website operator has an interest in the anonymised analysis of website visitors for advertising purposes.

Further information and the data protection provisions can be found in Google’s data protection declaration at: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.

Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking

This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising programme of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).

Within the framework of Google AdWords, we use so-called conversion tracking. When you click on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files that the internet browser stores on the user’s computer. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used to personally identify the user. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not expired yet, Google and we will be able to recognise that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page.

Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The cookies cannot be tracked across AdWords customers’ websites. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted-in to conversion tracking. The customers learn about the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that personally identifies users. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking, you can object to this use by easily deactivating the Google conversion tracking cookie via your internet browser under user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

The storage of “conversion cookies” is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

More information on Google AdWords and Google conversion tracking can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If you deactivate cookies, the functionality of this website may be limited.

Hotjar

Our website uses the web analytics service Hotjar provided by Hotjar Ltd. Hotjar Ltd is a European company based in Malta (Hotjar Ltd, Level 2, St Julians Business Centre, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St Julians STJ 1000, Malta, Europe, Tel: +1 (855) 464-6788).

With this tool, movements on the websites on which Hotjar is used can be tracked (so-called heat maps). For example, it is possible to see how far users scroll and how often they click on which buttons. Furthermore, with the help of the tool it is also possible to obtain feedback directly from the users of the website. Most importantly, Hotjar’s services can improve the functionality of the Hotjar-based website by making it more user-friendly, more valuable and easier to use for end users.

We take special care to protect your personal data when using this tool. For example, we can only track which buttons are clicked, mouse history, how far scrolled, device screen size, device type and browser information, geographic location (country only) and preferred language to display our website. Areas of the websites in which personal data of you or third parties are displayed are automatically hidden by Hotjar and are therefore not traceable at any time. In order to exclude the possibility of direct personal references, IP addresses are only stored and processed anonymously. However, Hotjar uses various third-party services such as Google Analytics and Optimizely. It may therefore be the case that these services collect data transmitted by your browser as part of web page requests. This would be, for example, cookies or your IP address. In these exceptional cases, this processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR on the basis of your consent for the purpose of statistical analysis of user behaviour for optimisation and marketing purposes.

Hotjar offers every user the option of using a “Do Not Track header” to prevent the use of the Hotjar tool so that no data about the visit to the respective website is recorded. This is a setting that is supported by all common browsers in current versions. To do this, your browser sends a request to Hotjar with the information to deactivate the tracking of the respective user. If you use our websites with different browsers/computers, you must set up the “Do Not Track header” separately for each of these browsers/computers.

When visiting a Hotjar-based website, you can prevent Hotjar from collecting your data at any time by going to our opt-out page at https://www.hotjar.com/legal/compliance/opt-out and clicking Disable Hotjar.

For more information about Hotjar Ltd and the Hotjar tool, please visit:

(1) We use “Facebook Pixel”, a service of Facebook Inc., 1601 S California Ave, Palo Alto, California 94304, USA (hereinafter referred to as: “Facebook”) on our website. Facebook Pixel enables Facebook to display our ads on Facebook, so-called “Facebook Ads”, only to those Facebook users who have been visitors to our web presence, in particular who have shown interest in our online offer. Facebook Pixel also makes it possible to check whether a user was redirected to our website after clicking on our Facebook Ads. Facebook Pixel uses, among other things, cookies, i.e. small text files that are stored locally in the cache of your web browser on your device. If you are logged into your Facebook user account, your visit to our website will be recorded in your user account. The data collected about you is anonymous for us, which does not allow us to draw any conclusions about the identity of the user. However, this data can be linked by Facebook to your Facebook user account.

(2) We use Facebook Pixel for marketing and optimisation purposes, in particular to place relevant and interesting ads for you on Facebook and thus improve our offer, make it more interesting for you as a user and avoid annoying ads.

(3) Insofar as you have given your consent for the storage of Facebook Pixel, this is done on the basis of Art. 6 GDPR.

(4) You can object to the aforementioned collection by Facebook Pixel and the use of your data for the display of Facebook Ads. You can make the relevant settings as to which types of advertisements are displayed to you within Facebook on the following Facebook website: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads. Please note that this setting will be deleted when you delete your cookies. In addition, you can deactivate cookies that are used for range measurement and advertising purposes via the following websites:

http://optout.networkadvertising.org/

http://www.aboutads.info/choiceshttp://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices

(5) In addition, Facebook has submitted to the Privacy Shield Agreement concluded between the European Union and the USA and has certified itself. This means that Facebook undertakes to comply with the standards and regulations of European data protection law. You can find more information in the entry linked below: https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnywAAC&status=Active

Integration of the Trusted Shops Trustbadge

The Trusted Shops Trustbadge is integrated on this website to display our Trusted Shops seal of approval and any ratings collected, as well as to offer Trusted Shops products to buyers after they have placed an order. This serves to protect our legitimate interests in the optimal marketing of our offer, which outweigh our interests in the context of a balancing of interests in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 GDPR. The Trustbadge and the services advertised with it are an offer of Trusted Shops GmbH, Subbelrather Str. 15C, 50823 Cologne.

When the Trustbadge is called up, the web server automatically saves a so-called server log file, which contains, for example, your IP address, the date and time of the call-up, the amount of data transferred and the requesting provider (access data) and documents the call-up. This access data is not evaluated and is automatically overwritten at the latest seven days after the end of your visit to the site.

Further personal data is only transferred to Trusted Shops if you have consented to this, have decided to use Trusted Shops products after completing an order or have already registered to use them. In this case, the contractual agreement between you and Trusted Shops applies.

5. Newsletter data

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on our website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify you as the owner of the e-mail address provided. Also we need your agreement for receiving the newsletter. No further data is collected or only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it to third parties.

The processing of the data entered in the newsletter registration form is based exclusively on your consent (. You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the e-mail address and their use for sending newsletters at any time, for example via the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you provide for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted after you unsubscribed. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the members’ area) remain unaffected by this.

Klaviyo

This website uses the services of Klaviyo for sending newsletters. The provider is Klaviyo, Inc.,
125 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02110.

Klaviyo is a service with which, among other things, the sending of newsletters can be organised and analysed. When you enter data for the purpose of receiving newsletters (e.g. email address), this data is stored on Klaviyo’s servers in the USA.

Klaviyo participates in the EU-US Privacy Shield framework and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield framework. The “Privacy Shield” is an agreement between the European Union (EU) and the USA, which is intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards in the USA.

With the help of Klaviyo, we can analyse our newsletter campaigns. When you open an email sent with Klaviyo, a file contained in the email (so-called web-beacon) connects to Klaviyo’s servers in the USA. A “web beacon,” also known as an Internet tag, pixel tag or clear GIF, is used to transmit information back to a web server. This makes it possible to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links have been clicked. In addition, technical information is recorded (e.g. time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system). This information cannot be assigned to the respective newsletter recipient. It is used exclusively for the statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.

If you do not want to be analysed by Klaviyo, you must unsubscribe from newsletter. For this purpose, we provide a corresponding link in every newsletter message. Furthermore, you can also unsubscribe directly on our website.

The data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you have provided us for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Once you unsubscribed it will be deleted from our servers as well as from the servers of Klaviyo. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g. email addresses for the membership) remain unaffected by this.

For more details, please refer to the data protection provisions of Klaviyo at: https://www.klaviyo.com/privacy/policy.

Conclusion of a data processing agreement

We have concluded a so-called “data processing agreement” with Klaviyo, in which we oblige Klaviyo to protect our customers’ data and not to pass it on to third parties. This agreement can be viewed at the following link: https://www.klaviyo.com/privacy/dpa.

6. Plugins & tools

Our website uses plugins from YouTube site operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

YouTube is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 GDPR.

Further information on the handling of user data can be found in YouTube’s privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.
